On December 3rd, Jean Monnet EU Centre invited Prof. Sebastian Bersick from the Ruhr-University to give an online lecture titled, "EU-Asia Connectivity: Concepts, Contexts, and Contestations". In the lecture, he mainly explained the concept of connectivity in EU-Asia relationships from regional and transregional perspectives. Specifically, he explained the wind opportunity which has opened up and allowed the EU to increase its role in both the Asia-Pacific and the Indo-Pacific. Throughout the lecture, Prof. Bersick stressed a more integrated connectivity strategy is essential for providing an additional rational vector. After the session, students enthusiastically asked questions, so that there was an engaging discussion on the topic. Through this session, students exchange their ideas and get insightful lessons for EU-Asia connectivity.
