The Jean Monnet EU Centre of Excellence receives academic papers on Europe-Asia connectivity for its Junior Research Fellowship Program. Woosung Kim (Research Professor at Korea University) was recognized for the research on " Does Peace Promote Trade? : The Evidence of Spillover effect of European Cooperation on Promoting Conflict or Building international Peace". The paper explores the reciprocal relationship between trade and interstate conflict by conducting the latent variables with indicators for each. Structural equation model (SEM) is used to estimate the reciprocal relationship between trade and peace.
