Professor Sung-won Yoon from Suwon University had presented a lecture of the European Union and its cultural policy. Her lecture provided an overview of the Cultural Policy of the European Union. It covered the evolution of EU cultural policy, its new features, and a case study on South Korea. Professor also lectured about the five stages of cultural policy and the audiovisual policy. Cultural policy in EU is decided every 6 years. The first stage was called Kaleidoscope, Raphael, Ariane programmes (mid 1990s-1999), and now Europe is going through the fifth stage that will last until 2027, called ‘New Creative Europe 2021-2027.’  Additionally, the professor highlighted the EU's efforts to encourage its Member States to cooperate in the conservation and safeguarding of cultural heritage of European significance, particularly in relation to film heritage. Finally, the lecture ended with information on the Pagoda Project, which ingested new Chinese-related digital objects and improved the metadata of Chinese-related heritage objects.
