On April 14, EU Centre invited H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, the EU ambassador to South Korea, for a special lecture. Titled “EU as a global actor,” the lecture covered various EU-related topics such as EU’s partnership with South Korea and several recent issues like the post-Brexit UK-EU relations. Throughout the presentation, she stressed EU’s importance as a multilateral actor. She started with a brief overview of EU’s history from its inception as a peace project. Later on, she explained EU’s pioneering role in climate change and international security. After the lecture, the floor was open to participants for Q & A session. Students actively asked questions, and a lively discussion continued.
