On November 3, the Jean Monnet EU Centre co-hosted a special lecture titled, "Dive into Belgium" with the KU Nordic-Benelux Centre and GPAS-Europe. We invited a special guest, Julian Quintart, who is a most popular Belgian celebrity. He is at the forefront of strengthening the introduction of Belgian culture to the Korean people. In his lecture, he shared his personal experiences about Korean culture gained from meeting numerous people across different industries. Additionally, he announced several cultural festivals to commemorate 120 years of diplomatic ties between Belgium and Korea. This lecture was conducted along with two KU students who have a deep interest in the Benelux region. They posed several questions to Julian including some on the history of bilateral relations, the specialty of Belgian culture, and the strategy of small countries among the big powers. In discussing these questions, all the participants could broaden their perspectives in the history, culture, and politics related to Belgium.
