European Energy Policy

On October 6th, today's presentation was held by Min Ryu about European Energy Policy. She gave a quick review of the EU's current energy flow before moving to the energy resources section. The second section of the presentation addressed the subject of what the EU should do to safeguard its energy security. Certain policies relating to supply security, sustainable growth, and competitiveness were critical in ensuring Europe's energy security. Additionally, they are the three pillars of the EU's energy policy. The EU can help ensure gas supply by preventing supply disruptions and establishing a framework and some mechanisms for gas supply. On the other side, expanding the southern gas corridor and creating the Mediterranean gas hub might help diversify the gas supply effectively. Furthermore, the EU has already implemented a green accord to secure sustainable development and restructure the EU's economy for the long term. Thirdly, the Energy Union was designed to ensure that EU consumers have access to competitive and affordable energy. After the presentation, other EUS members also addressed the energy concerns around a nuclear facility based on the current policies and regulations.
