Language Exchange Day

In the semester’s second meeting, EUS had a new event that previously had not been held before. A Language Exchange Day was organized by asking individual members who can fluently speak a European language to shortly introduce their language in the meeting. Each presentation was around 7-10 minutes long, and included important and frequently used words and phrases, for example for self-introduction, as well as other interesting words or facts about the language in question. Each presentation was then followed by a short Q&A session. In total, five presentations were given: Sabina introduced the Romanian language, Laurine talked about French, Carina presented Swedish, Vanessa gave an introduction to German, and Edna talked about the Spanish language. The meeting caught the interest of many members and gave an opportunity to get to know more about popular as well as less well-known European languages and their similarities and differences. It also possibly gave motivation to members to learn one of these languages later. After the presentations ended, take-out dinner was provided for all participants.
