Professor Chung gave a lecture about ‘Digital Diplomacy of the EU.’ The concept of digital diplomacy could be foreign but matters more in the era of data. Nowadays, data is a tool to understand the target’s needs and responses. It is also a significant part of public diplomacy, which needs a much refinement. Global actors actively use online platforms to reach out to the public, which means the data diplomacy should be more effective and forge the strategies that could attract the interests. The EU actively uses digital diplomacy with several task forces under external action framework fighting against ‘disinformation’ tactics. COVID-19 posed challenges, especially on vaccinations and conspiracies regarding the disease.
