In session 6, prof. Park lectured on the Political Economy of Regional Integration. The session was an informative overview of the economic integration of the European Union. The lecture consisted of three parts: Background of Increasing FTAs, Rationale of Regionalism, and Cons and Pros of Regional Integration. In the first part, the professor explained the two significant waves of regionalism after WWII and how they increased FTAs. In the next part, he elaborated on the economic, political, and diplomatic considerations in establishing FTAs. Finally, the professor explained the positive and negative aspects of regional integration in detail based on the first two parts. The professor and the students had enjoyable discussions on the lecture topic.
