The EU Centre opened a summer school course, titled "Contemporary Europe" for KU undergraduate students. This course aimed at improving the understanding of extensive issues pertaining to the European Union. Based on the goal of the course, we invited EU-related experts in Korea to provide learning opportunities for the students. Two Jean Monnet Chairs (Prof. Sung-Hoon Park and Jae-Seung Lee), Dr. Heung-Jong Kim, President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and a few other experts participated in this team-teaching course. All the lectures were conducted via an online platform because of the COVID-19 pandemic, The course covered various issues about the EU including its history, politics, diplomacy, economy, cultures, and regional cooperation. At the last session, we invited John Bogaerts who is currently head of the political, press, and information section at the European Union delegation to the Republic of Korea.
