Prof. Noguera illustrated EU-Asia connectivity from the perspective of digital technology and data governance. This research aims to explore where the EU and PRC stand today in global data governance and whether digital connectivity component of the EU-Asia Strategy Connectivity – Global Gateway – is a suitable framework to tackle this issue focus on how far data governance and data location impact trade barriers. It answers their following questions: Will systematic international pressures, in view of the unique importance of global data governance, drive the EU and the PRC to pursue similar approaches over time? Or are domestic nuances the key explanatory factor that will continue to drive differences in data governance? Could the policy area of data governance take place within the digital connectivity initiative? Their research analyzes contemporary connectivity concepts EU-China relationship. Through case studies on semi-conductor businesses and data governance, the research reveals that technological advancement facilitates connectivity.
