On April 4th, Jean Monnet EU Centre had the sixth workshop for the SPEAC Network Project. As the previous workshops, the seminar proceeded online due to the COVID-19. Scholars from South Korea, Germany, and Sweden discussed about the development of papers. How to reflect the changing geopolitical situations, namely Russia-Ukraine war, in the publications were discussed. Although the papers are not about the war, the implication of it on the connectivity should be brought to attention as well as reconsideration of EU’s role. After the welcoming opening remark, the sessions were divided into three parts. Session 1 focuses on the conceptual framework; the framework would not fundamentally change, but geopolitical implications would be highlighted. Session 2 and 3 focus on actors and institutions such as EU’s role as a security provider. After the meeting, managerial issues were discussed.
