As a second lecture of NCRE's special diplomatic series, on 24 February 2017, NCRE invited Bernard Savage , EU Ambassador to New Zealand.  

This event was held at Undercroft 101 at University of Canterbury and invited about 55 audiences. Bernard Savage spoke for 20 mins to an audience of students, academics and members of the public. His presentation was followed by a very engaging and interesting Q&A session with the audience. Bernard Savage focused most of his speech on climate change. He highlighted the fact that it is the single greatest issue of our time and it must be addressed in a timely and effective manner before any other initiatives whether they be business or developmental can be successful. Bernard also spoke about the exciting opportunities that exist in the Pacific and the ways in which the Pacific can gain a stronger place within the global economy.
