Outlines

(up to 5 points)

-Italian labour law was a late comer to develop at the end of 19th

century, experienced the fascist periods and became mature in 1970s.

-Italian labour law puts more weight on collective labour relationship

regulations, such as other European countries.

-Japanese labour law puts more weight on individual labour relationship regulations, such as the US.

-European countries, and Japan under their influence, hold dismissal restriction rules, whereas the US holds “employment at will” rule.

-Italian labour law used to hold but recently abandoned the “return to

the original positions” rule, which is held now only by Japan, and Japan

is now taking into consideration the Italian labour law shift.
