-The last lecture revealed the importance of data protection in the end to protect healthy functioning of democracy. -For people to be free in making decisions in democratic system, people should be able to choose to be tracked or not on the internet. -Cookie system by default tend not to leave people choices of whetheror not they accept to be tracked or not. -EU data protection law requires that cookie system enable users this choice. -GDPR also addresses the issues with detailed provisions for profiling as well. |
