On November 8th, 2019, EU Centre invited Emil Kirchner, a renowned scholar from the University of Essex.  

With the title of “The EU’s Strategy on Connecting Europe and Asia and the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative,” 

he introduced the EU connectivity strategy to Asia, its rationales, and the key objectives. Furthermore, 

he addressed the importance of the initiative and presented his opinion on whether the strategy can dovetail with the Chinese BRI. 

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session, which was open to the audience to share constructive opinions.
