On January 30, Jean Monnet Centre at Korea University and Chey Institute for Advanced Studies hosted a special lecture with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The secretaries and DohM from embassies of NATO members and H.E. Soongu Yoon, the ambassador of ROK to Belgium and NATO attended the lecture as well. The Director of Jean Monnet Centre, Professor Jae-Seung Lee moderated the Q&A session with more than a hundred audiences. Through his keynote speech, Secretary General emphasized the importance of NATO and South Korea’s partnership. He addressed the major threats to both Korea and the world: North Korea and the war in Ukraine. Stoltenberg stressed the connected security of the modern world that “what happens in Europe matters to the Indo-Pacific” and vice versa. After the speech, he answered to a few questions such as the end of Ukraine war and his opinion on ‘new cold war’ structure.
