Distinguished Lecture Series: Envisioning Peace War in Europe (March 22, 2023) > KUJMCE Distinguished Lecture Series

On March 22, Jean Monnet Centre at Korea University and GPAS-Europe co-hosted a special lecture. H.E. Michael Reiterer, a former ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Korea and now a professor at Brussel, was an invited speaker of the lecture. After the warm welcoming remark and brief introduction from Professor Sunghoon Park, H.E. Reiterer gave a brilliant and insightful overview on the ongoing war. The overall subject of the lecture was ‘Envisioning Peace: The War in Ukraine, European Views on the current Issue.’ The aggression should not have been unexpected and there are many obstacles for maintaining the peace. But the most important thing is that Europe has been in crisis for a long time, and the European Union itself had borne to overcome seemingly unending conflicts at the time. The lecture ended with avid questions from the floor on various topics such as refugees and international institutions.
