On September 19, the EU Society held its first orientation meeting of the fall semester 2023. The orientation commenced with a warm welcome from EUS’s new President, Jinwoo Chon, who introduced herself along with Vice President Tamara.

Jinwoo Chon then gave a presentation on the goals and plans of the EU Society for the semester. She also went over the attendance rules, planned activities, and membership tracks. Attendees will have the option to choose between the ambassador track or the general member track. The rules of the presentation and how the discussion is supposed to go on after the presentation were also discussed.

Following the presentation, the students were divided into four groups and each group was given a map. In order for students to get to know each other better, we played the ice breaker game "Origin Map." The new members were not just learning each other's names, but also about each other's countries and the country's fun facts!

After each group had a chance to introduce themselves, one member of each group was invited to stand up and present their group by stating everyone's names and where everyone is from. As EU Society wrapped up the orientation, all new members were encouraged to start thinking about their future presentation topics and to bring their enthusiasm to our next session scheduled for the following week (every Tuesday evening). 

All attendees at the first EU Society meeting who had pre-registered had the chance to enjoy a dinner together, creating more opportunities for networking and getting to know fellow society members.
