The third session of the Summer School was focused on EU-Korea Trade relations. Professor Heung Chong Kim EU's Common Commercial Policy and Korea-EU FTA while also discussing EU as a global trade power. Students learned about EU's trade in goods, its various trade partners, major commodities of import and export, etc. While discussing EU's Common Commercial Policy, Prof. Kim covered new trade strategy of the EU, its legal framework, and most importantly, EU's growing interest in the Indo-Pacific region. During the session, students also learned about main policy tools of the EU including Common External Tariff, Preferential Trade Agreements, Non-tariff Barriers, and Trade Defense/Remedies. Finally, Korea-EU FTA was discussed in detail covering a brief history, main contents of the FTA, etc.
